The opening of a new and bigger office of at least 100 square meters equipped with a conference room enables JSC & Co. CPAs to accelerate growth in providing services to its clients. With this, the firm held blessing of the new office located at 201 Manros Plaza, General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City. The office blessing was officiated by Rev. Jerardo G. Matriano, CS SR last December 9, 2016. Clients, former staffs of the firm and special guests graced the opening ceremony.
The new office space supports the firm’s growth strategy and is now ready to provide its clients the best service in the Queen City of the South and other Visayas areas!
Local auditing firm goes national
SANTOS-CUA Accounting, Auditing, & Consulting Firm of Cagayan de Oro City, a firm founded in 2009 by Gladeys Jill A. Santos-Cua, (BSAcctcy 2001) has taken its bold step towards serving clients in the whole country.
Santos-Cua Firm has embarked another milestone of its journey towards providing the best service to the clientele by opening offices in the cities of Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

In order to meet the demands on raising the bar of excellence in the practice of profession, Santos-Cua Firm applied and was granted accreditations with the Board of Accountancy (BOA), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), National Electrification Administration (NEA), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Santos-Cua Firm is geared towards the direction of professional partnership of CPAs soon. CPAs of the firm who meet partnership qualifications will be the partners of the practitioner. Though currently under sole proprietorship, its employees get to share the firm’s net income.
Cua earned her degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas and Ateneo de Cagayan University, respectively.
She was past president of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Cagayan de Oro-Misamis Oriental Chapter. PICPA National awarded her as National Young Achiever in 2009 and her chapter as Most Outstanding Chapter during her presidency in 2010. Santos-Cua Accounting, Auditing, & Consulting Firm was founded middle of 2009 and is now nearing five and half years of existence covering a nationwide scope. Its Founder & CEO is accorded with three (3) professional licenses issued by the Professional Regulation Commission namely: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Real Estate Broker (REB), and Real Estate Appraiser (REA). She is graduating her Bachelor of Laws degree come March 2015. She earned her degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Cagayan University, respectively. She was an academic scholar and dean’s list in UP. Her master’s degree was under the Local Scholarship Program, entitling her to earn the degree for just one (1) year. She was the past president of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Cagayan de Oro-Misamis Oriental Chapter and is now a member of the Council of Past Presidents and National Board of Association of CPAs in Public Practice (ACPAPP). She is well-trained here and abroad on areas of Accounting, Auditing, Real Estate, International Standards Organization (ISO), and Forensic Accounting. She was awarded in London, United Kingdom on her certification as member of the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) where she is certified to audit ISO companies anywhere in the world. She was likewise awarded by a Delaware, USA based certification body of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants (ICrFA) as a Certified Forensic Accountant (CrFA) where her presence can be called as expert witness on litigations concerning fraud. She is a regular speaker in advancing the profession of accountancy by conducting lectures on accounting and auditing with the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce, a multi-awarded Chamber of Commerce Chapter in the Philippines as well as with the Rotary International District 3870, particularly Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro, where she was elected Treasurer after her return from the Student Exchange Program in Virginia, USA, the sole representative out of thirty (30) young professionals vying for said student exchange scholarship program. Her fields of concentration in the exchange program were on accounting, auditing, and real estate where she was given the opportunity to study the practice of accountancy and real estate professions in Virginia, USA providing her learning by experience vis-a-vis practice of accountancy and real estate professions in the Philippines. Said exposure equipped her with best practices in handling her Firm single-handedly operating four (4) offices in Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro cities in a nationwide scope.
In 2010 Santos-Cua AAC Firm created its first office outside Cagayan de Oro which is the Davao Office followed by offices in Cebu and Manila. To date, the Firm is manned with 30 people, majority of whom are experienced and competent Certified Public Accountants.

CDO Port accountant is PICPA national awardee
Ms. Jill Cua, the Senior Corporate Accountant A of the Philippine Ports Authority in the Port of Cagayan de Oro was recently the recipient of the most prestigious Young Achiever Award given by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).
The award was instituted by PICPA to give recognition to outstanding CPAs who, at an early stage of their career, have excelled and shown significant achievement in their chosen field. The candidate must not be more than 35 years old and of good moral character.
Ms. Cua was first given the regional award by PICPA that entitled her to qualify for the national award.
The search focuses on the improvement brought about by the candidate in terms of professional development activities as well as involvement in community activities.
Ms. Cua started working for the PPA in 2004 as a Corporate Accounts Analyst and after one year became Senior Corporate Accountant A the position where she is right now.
She hails from Balingoan, Misamis Oriental where her father used to be the mayor. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, Iloilo with a degree in B.S. Accountancy and a Dean’s Lister and took the board exams the same year passing it without any difficulty. City
She is presently a member of the board of the Cagayan de Oro PICPA Chapter and its incoming president for 2010-2011, starting in June of next year.
Ms. Cua is the daughter of Balingoan, Misamis Oriental former Mayor Edgar Ybanez Santos and Glenda Astillero Santos, Clerk of Court of Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Kinoguitan, Mis. Or. She is married to Roque Pumaren Cua, a businessman from Iloilo City and they are blessed with a daughter Scarlette Nicole Santos Cua, 6 yrs old, now in grade 1 at Sacred. Heart Montessori School
She has finished 3rd year of Law studies and has completed the academic requirements for a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). She is presently enrolled at Xavier for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) under the Civil Service Commission’s Local Scholarship Program for a year under MBA the program. University
The PPA has recognized and honored Ms. Cua’s achievement and has allowed her to attend the awarding ceremonies in Manila last November 30th.
